Meet your groomer Addison of The Traveling Tail

Owner & Master Groomer

Meet Addison.

The Traveling Tail isn't a franchise with a rotating roster. It's one certified master groomer, one meticulously equipped van, and one standard that never moves — because Addison does every single groom herself.

Her story

Gifted hands, a gentle heart, and an eye for every detail.

Addison founded The Traveling Tail to do grooming the way she always believed it should be done — one dog at a time, in a calm van in your own driveway, with no cages and no clock running. A certified Master Groomer and Fear Free Certified Professional, she is exceptionally talented with every coat type, from wiry terriers to heavy double coats, and she still does every single groom herself.

Addison is simply amazing at what she does. Her scissor work is precise, her finishes are flawless, and she has a rare gift for reading a dog the moment she meets them — the nervous rescue, the wiggly puppy, the senior who needs a little extra patience all leave calm, comfortable and looking their very best. Owners notice the difference the first time.

Today she serves Lampasas and the surrounding towns solo, by design. Keeping it to one groomer means the person you meet is the person who remembers everything: your dog's coat history, the ear that needs extra care, the exact length you liked last time.

Credentials

Certified, and continuously re-certified

Grooming is an unregulated trade in most of the country — anyone can buy clippers and call themselves a groomer. These are the credentials that separate a trained professional from a hobbyist.

Certified Master Groomer

National Dog Groomers Association of America

The industry's most rigorous credential — written exams plus judged practical grooms across multiple breed groups and coat types.

Fear Free Certified Professional

Fear Free Pets

Trained in low-stress handling: reading canine body language, pacing the groom to the dog, and stopping before anxiety becomes fear.

Pet First Aid & CPR Certified

PetTech

Current certification in canine first aid, CPR and emergency response — the van is a medical-ready space, not just a salon.

Certified Professional Groomer

International Professional Groomers

Breed-standard trim certification covering the sporting, terrier, toy and non-sporting groups.

Continuing Education

Annual seminars & competitions

Every year she takes new coursework in coat science, skin conditions and hand-scissoring technique. The learning never stops.

Licensed, Insured & Bonded

State of Texas

A fully insured mobile grooming operation with commercial liability coverage, so your dog and your property are protected.

How she works

Three rules she won't bend

01

One dog at a time

Your dog is never crated, never waiting, never sharing the space with a stranger's anxious terrier. From the moment the van door opens until they trot back inside, her attention is entirely theirs.

02

The groom ends when the dog says so

No production quota, no stacked appointments. If a nervous rescue needs three breaks and a slow introduction to the dryer, that is what the appointment becomes.

03

Honesty over upselling

If a coat is too matted to brush out humanely, she will tell you plainly and recommend the kinder option — even when it is the cheaper one.

The Traveling Tail Experience

Every groom, start to finish, by Addison.

One groomer means limited slots — book early, especially for weekends.
